"The XVth FECHEM
Conference on Organometallic chemistry was hosted and organized
by the Institute of inorganic chemistry at the University
of Zurich. It was a medium size conference with 412 participants
from 32 countries worldwide.
The organization
of the conference was carried out using EVENI conference software.
The benefits from this were:
A simplification
for the handling of submitted abstracts and facile preparation
of the book of abstracts. The deadline for submissions could
thus be reduced to a six week period prior to the start of
the conference. More than 300 abstracts were processed by
one person and prepared for print as a pdf-file within days.
The reviewing process
was also supported by the software. All reviewing could be
done via the Internet with a complete overview on open reviews.
Furthermore, administrative
processes were continuously updated via the internet database,
showing all data of the participants including all monetary
transfer processes. The database also provided the option
to print hard copies of all data including receipts, name
tags and confirmations of participations. The software is
of course compatible with the mail merging facilities of standard
office software.
By the use of Eveni software, we could
shorten the handling time remarkably for all administrative
tasks. The secretariat of the XVth FECHEM Conference would
recommend Eveni software to all people in charge of organizing
future conferences."
