Welcome to our first Eveni newsletter of 2005. In this edition, we discuss the increasing acceptance of online shopping and payments by credit cards. Why Peer Reviewing?

Most conferences, conventions and seminars are based on contributions from various speakers. These authors from all over the world submit their abstracts, articles or presentations on the Web. Then, a program committee assigns reviewers (peers) to each contribution. The reviewers prepare a recommendation for the committee, whether the contribution should be accepted for the conference.

Today every e-mail user needs to separate between real important information and spam; either using (better) sophisticated spam-filters or (worse) manual work. The increase of the spam mails reduces the value of the medium as an efficient communication channel. Group Registration
With our new "Online Group Registration" module Eveni improves the support for corporate events. Relationship managers register now their customers, including all accommodation specifics and travel details. Persons in charge of companies register groups of employees, members etc. Every responsible person only sees his or her own group of registrations. With predefined quotas, the administration manager controls the number of registrations per relationship manager, per country and so on. In the next newsletter, we will discuss online group registration in more detail.
Hotel Information
The Eveni data schema has been expanded to support a wide range of accommodation information for each participant. The administrator inserts hotels with the various room types and the related numbers of blocked rooms per type. The participants can be assigned to these contingents until they are fully booked. This new module is integrated with the other registration and participant management modules of Eveni.
Travel Information
For corporate events where you would like to provide more services to the attendees, you will often need detailed travel information per participant to organize the ground transfers and other services. Eveni now provides the possibility to store all relevant information such as flight information, arrival and departure dates and times per participant. The identifiers for airlines and airports use international standards (IATA etc.). Now you can organize your ground transfers with the new Eveni modules.
New cooperation
Swiss Spine Institute is a new customer of Eveni. Swiss Spine Institute organizes various events and benefits from the online registration services of Eveni.
