In 2003, Eveni supported several different international academic conferences.
In academic conferences, we see an increasing number of participants using credit card as the standard method of payment.
We have done some analysis to show you the observed distribution of the different payment methods.

From around 990 monitored registrations in four international conferences we saw 58 % direct online payments with credit cards.
18 % of the participants preferred, if offered, the use of online registration with payment done by sending a fax containing the credit card number. So in total 76 % used a credit card for payment of the participant fee.
Bank transfers are used by 16 % of the participants and
6 % paid cash onsite at the registration desk.
Only 2 % wished to pay with bank checks.
This gives us the strong feeling that payment by credit card is a widespread standard.                                                                                ...back to the Newsletter
